Lets talk about Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2 - Battle Tendency

This is a sequel to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1 - Phantom Blood & if you want to find more about that. I have done a blog separately talking about that only, so do check that blog out before reading this one. The people who haven't seen Part 1, there will be spoilers head so. Link in comments.

This story takes place 50 years after Part 1(1888) in 1938, this is where we get introduced to Joseph Joestar and his grandma Erina who is the wife of Jonathon Joestar. Rest everybody is dead, including Joseph's Parents. In the same episode, we come to know of the discovery of a ruin in Mexico which is said to have something terrible. Which is later revealed to be Stone Masks

and the pillar men (the main antagonist of the show)

who created the stone mask 2000 years ago to conquer the sun, as they cannot go in the sun, or else they will be too overpowered in the start only.

Since the story is very close to World War 2 so, we actually get to see Nazis in the anime at least, which is pretty bold for according to me and I like it. We did not get to see Hitler which would be cool, to say the least. There is a lot of German Activity in the show, which plays a huge role in the series.

Soon after that, we get to know a pocket thief Smokey Brown, who gets caught by the police and is getting beaten badly and when I say bad I mean it. Then Joseph comes & says I gave him my wallet let him go. The police disrespects him, get beaten into a pulp, and everybody happily goes home. Though this may be a pretty insignificant scene & is only used to introduce Smokey but in reality, it does more than that but also lets us know about what kind of character Joseph Joestar is.  

He is a very impulsive young individual who can get into his opponents' minds and can predict what they will say next, which is really really helpful if you can comprehend it. He is also a great Hamon (its a kind of power due to breathing, more info on my first blog. Link in comments) user, kind of a prodigy. One time he was in a private plain with Speedwagon and it got hacked and he was busy reading his manga (kind of better Japanese comic). He did not give a flying rats' ass about what was going on & was like, you want Speedwagon I don't care take him, but don't trouble me. Then, also he takes his manga and it goes downhill, from there literally, he makes the plane crash. This does not mean he does not care about Speedwagon, no-no-no. Speedwagon and Erina are probably the only people he cares about until now.

We also get to know that Joseph is shit scared of his Grandma and will do anything to please her. He also respects her very much so that he will kill for her, yeah no kidding it happens.

Regarding his parents, they both died while he was young and was raised by Erina only with the help of Speedwagon, which is probably why he respects both of them so much. Both of them dies in WW1 while fighting for their country.

After that we see Straizo (Another guy from part 1, read it yet?) betray Speedwagon as he didn't want to get old, well, who does. He becomes a vampire, comes to New York & meets Joseph. He starts firing in public but he does not die. He threatens to kill a girl but in the end, gets his ass whooped like our policemen in the 1st episode but in the end, while dying he tells him about the Pillar men, so, all in all, he did not die for vain, well his death was not that vain.

Then enters Caesar Zeppeli (all the people who have seen Part 1 know what I am talking about & read my other log yet) one of my most favourite character in the whole series. Caesar Zeppeli is kind of a playboy and more powerful in Hamon in then Joseph here who hates hard work, relatable.

I don't want to go any further as I will ruin it, so let us talk something else.

The animation is pretty much the same so nothing new there. the story and skillsets of the protagonist are completely different so that makes a nice difference from Part 1 to Part 2. There are better character development and arcs than in Part 1 so overall it is way better than Part 1.
