Lets talk about Classroom of the Elite/Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e

The show starts with a question and I quote " Are all human equal " which plays a key role throughout the season. Soon another quote follows " God does not create someone more superior or inferior than others" followed by the phrase "Humans are born equal but a gap is created later due to the level of diligence". Give it some thought :)

The story starts with the bus scene where we are introduced with the main characters, ideals of equality, and what it really means which is put to the test several times in the show. We get to know that they all are going to a school, a very fancy one at that.

On the surface, Koudo Ikusei Senior High School( Name of the School ) is a utopia. The students enjoy an unparalleled amount of freedom, and it is very ranked highly in Japan. However, the reality is less than ideal. Four classes, A through D, are ranked in order of their respective merit, and only the top 3 classes receive favorable treatment. As you may have guessed by now A, B, C receive the better half of the treatment. The school has a 100% employment and

college acceptant rate so is like a dream school for a high school student. While class membership is permanent, class rankings are not; students in lower ranked classes can rise in rankings if they score better than those in the top ones.

for e.g if class D has 200 points and class C has 180 points, now class C becomes class D and vice-versa. 

 Additionally, in Class D, there are no bars on what methods can be used to get ahead. In this cutthroat school, can they prevail against the odds and reach the top?

The school at the end of 4 years takes responsibility for only its first 3 classes hence leaves D, therefore, maintains its 100% rate. The school offers its, children 100,000 points per month and 1 point = 1 yen. Yeah, that's a lot of money. At the end of the month, the S system is introduced where according to the stuff you do in a month, you are awarded points accordingly and more points more money. The points you make are also counted in your class points and help increase your rank. This makes it a hella competitive school.

Kiyotaka Ayanokouji(Super Smart)  is a student of Class D, where the school dumps its worst. There he meets the unsociable Suzune Horikita, who believes she was placed in Class D by mistake(it as not a mistake, believe me) and desires to climb all the way to Class A, and the seemingly amicable class idol Kikyou Kushida, whose aim is to make as many 

friends as possible.  

We get to witness Kiyotaka Ayanokouji's intelligence in the 1st episode followed by his social life, which is no treat. Kiyotaka Ayanokouji is a very very very unenthusiastic person and his facial expression never changes, whether someone is killing him, or someone is dying or he is fighting someone

 

he is just like, "do I need to do this" and has a whatevs attitude. He follows the rule of energy conservation and doesn't do a thing extra. This makes him a very interesting character for me to see how will he navigate the labyrinth known as HIGH SCHOOL. 

Next is Suzune Horikita who is a loner by "Choice" and prefers to be alone. She also happens to be the sister of The Student Council President (The OP Guy). She sits next to Kiyotaka Ayanokouji and he is the only person who she talks to. They make a dynamic duo according to me.

The story is full of twist and turns like the S system and other which if I do will spoil it. The school prefers practical work over rote learning which for me is very good. The school maybe be competitive but it provides a new perspective to our normal daily school which I find very wholesome.

Overall, I recommend anyone who likes competitive High School and wants a bit of drama and romance here and there, this should be there to go to anime.
